about this plant
A plant that I grabbed years ago from A Roadside Nursery off Chrome Avenue in Miami simply tagged 'red crystal'. It has a nice soft red maroon emergent not so shocking as the most sought after versions of this plant but almost certainly somewhere along Tim Anderson's Wonder Boy lineage.
I've kept it around because it has been the pollen parent in some of my most prolifically variegated seed batches, producing a whole bunch of seedlings with interesting mutations and variegations. It is the pollen parent of "Googley Moogley". Genetic recombination at its finest.
